So what exactly is RSD?

My very first post on this blog gives Taylor's full story, so if you want to read about that, scroll down to the bottom of the page. '

But if you want just an idea of what RSD is, read here:
RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) is a horrible chronic nerve condition that causes constant 24/7 burning, piercing pain. Taylor has this condition in all 4 limbs. Not many people can tell by looking at Taylor, just how severe her pain is.
Treatments, procedures, medicine: NONE of these have given Taylor any relief; they have tried it all.

I encourage you to research RSD and gain a better understanding of what this terrible condition holds for our friend, Taylor. I will never be able to understand the pain that she has to deal with every minute, but it doesn't hurt to know how to pray for her.

2010

Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to visit this blog. I know that if i can speak for Taylor on one thing, it would be that she is so thankful for people (like you) in her life who pray for her and demonstrate friendship and love in her life. For one thing, i want to focus in on some of my favorite things about Taylor.... One characteristic that i am so thankful for in her is her tender and giving heart, seeking to help others. She devotes much time to loving on friends and other kids that need a listening ear or good advice...She has a gift of making people laugh. I will never forget this one time when Taylor and i were sitting on the couch, and ALL IT TOOK was one funny gesture from her, and i was instantly on my back; laughing my head off. Taylor is always sensitive to the feelings and emotions of others, and willing and ready to incline her ear. I can think of many many girls who are willing to testify to that. Even this morning, i called Taylor to check in with her, and even though she was still in bed, she picked up that phone and said hello. One funny thing about Taylor is her ability to make spontaneous poems and raps. Oh the laughs i have enjoyed over one of Taylor's clever lines - she's my favorite songwriter for sure!

As we enter into this new year, please join me in making a committment to keep the prayers for her a priority in your life. This season, especially, because the next few months will have some very bittersweet anniversaries for things like Taylor's botched surgery and diagnosis. Anyone who knows Taylor, can perceive that she lives her life to the greatest extent. Let's pray that 2010 will be a year of sweet healing and restoration for the girl that we love like crazy!

Psalm 68:19 "Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens."

I thought this picture was a perfect example of giving praise to a God who daily bears our burdens. When you are walking through something so challenging, it can be easy to lose sight of the supremacy of God. I am thankful that our friend Taylor wants to praise God and honor Him with her life in the midst of the pain that she's facing.
Keep praying, friends!

Continually placing hope in Him.
Our God is able.

God's promises.

As we approach the season of "Hope" we are continually reminded of God's promises... One of the most comforting promises is found in Matthew 11:27
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I WILL give you rest."

God promises to give us strength in times of pain and suffering with His hand of love.

Isaiah 41:10 "Don't be fearful, for I AM with you. Don't be anxious, for I AM your God. I WILL strengthen you. Surely, I WILL uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Let's keep praying for God to give Taylor rest and strength in this season of her life.
We serve a God who performs miracles!

A Christmas miracle...

Thanks for taking the time to read Taylor's story...what an awesome human, huh?

Taylor's mom recently posted on facebook that she is going to commit to pray each day for a Christmas healing miracle for Taylor.
Please join us in doing so, because God promises to hear to the cries of His people in 2 Chronicles 7:17. "If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, then i will hear from heaven and and forgive their sins and heal their land."

I'm thankful to serve a God who can hear and heal!
Let's get on our knees!

Let me introduce you to my friend, Taylor.

Taylor Denae Poor; a sixteen year old girl being used in tremendous ways by God. I want you to know what her story is. In March of 2007, Taylor began feeling pain in her leg while she was running Track. She spent weeks going through test after test, finding no answer to the pain in her leg. As time went on, her pain moved around and was now in both legs. Finally, she was diagnosed with a Popliteal Artery Entrapment in both legs which is very rare in general, but more common in athletes. Taylor was scheduled to have surgery on April 19th, and when she went in for surgery, her doctor performed surgery on the wrong leg. The botched surgery and trauma that both legs faced caused a disease called RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy.) A chronic nerve condition that has placed her in 24/7 excruciating pain.
Taylor and her family have tried everything in the US to find some way to give her relief; everything from nerve blocks and morphine shots, to major surgery, but all things have ceased to work. It's a matter of God's divine healing now. Her constant pain doesn't stop her from living a vibrant life for her Creator, but there are times that the pain consumes her life.
This girl is someone who has impacted more people than she knows. Taylor's passion and love for God are evident in her life. Others can see her heart beaming for Him. Her compassion and care for others speaks volumes about who she truly is!

Please join us in making a commitment to pray fervently for God's miracle of healing in her life.

Psalm 77:14 "You are the God who performs MIRACLES. You display your power among Your people."
